Steven Silberman, Rabbi of Ahavas Chesed Congregation, was born in High Point, NC and grew up in Newington, Ct. He received his BS in Psychology from UCLA and was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York City in 1990. An academic and spiritual high point in his life was studying in and living in Jerusalem, Israel during his seminary training. The greatest moments of his life are his marriage to his wife, Manette, and the births of their four children, David, Aaron, Jacob and Danit. They have lived in Mobile, AL since 1990 and enjoy sharing family time. Rabbi Silberman places a priority on maintaining close relationships with the members of his synagogue. Frequently, he visits local schools and churches to teach about Judaism.
